Spotify Premium subscribers have reached 83 million: this is revealed by the financial results published by the Swedish giant of music streaming on the portal dedicated to investors.

This is a 10% increase in the second quarter compared to the first quarter of 2018, with a yearly 40% increase. Important numbers also for those who opt for the free service (with the insertion of advertisements): 101 million users, again on a monthly basis.

Spotify - which has recently been listed on the Stock Exchange and is certainly one of the most used streaming music platforms together with its competitor Apple Music - has released data on songs for training that sportsmen and women love to listen to in order to get the boost between an aerobic session and a run on the treadmill.

Music for training: Eminem is the most listened to

"Rock Your Body", "Gym Motivation", "Hip Hop Training", "Latin Dance Cardio", "Run Wild", "Fitness Unlimited", "Slay The Weights", "Endorphin Rush", "Dance Workout" ... are just some of the over 25 million playlists for training created in Spotify.
The most liked song comes fromEminem, "Till I Collapse". Evidently, gym enthusiasts recognise themselves in the tenacity of the piece. The song (released in 2002) is also the longest lasting, as it continues to appear in the top list year after year. Eminem is also the only artist present with two tracks in the charts.

The listening data recorded by Spotify every year signals a peak for training hits in the period from January 1st to the 24th. It is clear that one of the good intentions at the end of the year is to resume or intensify physical exercise. After this period, the number of times playlists for training are listened to decreases and stabilises around February 14th. Apparently, for many people good intentions last about a month half.

Cities in the Nordic countries and the United States are the ones that make the most use of playlists to train. Oslo is at the top of the list, followed by Miami, Washington D.C., London, Copenhagen, Gothenburg, Phoenix, Dallas, Auckland and Toronto.
